I believe that every person has the right to achieve to their maximum potential according to their learning needs and abilities.  My aim is to try to make a difference in people's lives and to continue to be an advocate in the field of SEN.  We never stop learning in life and I consider myself to be the 'eternal student', with a love of everything that is related to SEN and inclusive practice.

Exam Access Arrangements and Dyslexia Specialist Assessor

Having gained the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (CCET) validated by the British Psychological Society, and its accompaniment module Educational Testing; Application & Reflection, as well as the Certificate of Psychometric Testing, assesssment & Access Arrangements (CPT3A), I am qualified to assess in English for exam access arrangements for public exams (GCSE, IGCSE, IB, A Levels).  I am a Dyslexia specialist and I can also carry out assessments for Dyslexia. I use a range of tests to assess for reading, spelling, handwriting/writing and cognitive difficulties, of which most are approved by the SASC in the UK; the SpLD Standards Assessment Commitee:

ART 2, BEERY VM1, BVPS, CTOPP2, DASH 2, GORT5, PhAB, SDMT, SPARCS, TOC-2, TOMAL2, Wordchains, WRAT5, WRIT, TIPS

https://www.sasc.org.uk/about-sasc/

I keep up to date every year on the latest changes for exam access arrangements to ensure the correct tests are used when making exam requests for concessions in the JCQ GCSE and A Level exams.

All standardised assessments are in English and take place in my office in Nice, not online.

Qualified teacher of French (as a foreign language) and English as an Additional Language teacher (EAL)

Learning a language can be challenging but less so when it is taught in a fun, visual and multisensory way, using a communicative approach. I can support students with Dyslexia, ADHD and Dyspraxia with the acquisition of a modern foreign language, using methods adapted to their learning needs.

Consultant for Inclusive Practices in Education for Students, Teachers & Parents

I provide workshops and presentations for teachers on classroom strategies to use for students with Dyslexia, ADHD and Dyspraxia.  I support parents and students by sharing learning techniques suited to their individual needs through 'à la carte' lessons and the creation of a Personal Page, which includes a 'Student Passport' written using the learner's voice.

I provide dyslexia training for teachers at Europass Teacher Academy in Nice (part of the Erasmus exchange programme) and online/face to face training/consultancy for French schools in the UK.

I also write articles for the Stop Being Invisible Digest newsletter.  Please see Menu under heading 'Stop Being Invisible Digest' for links to my articles.
